Al-Futuh Gate

Interesting
Bab Al-Futuh or the Gate of Conquests marks the northern end of the ramparts, which were built in the 11C by the Fatimids who used stones from ancient Memphis. Its imposing mass is flanked by two round towers. As you look at gate, remember that at the time it was built the road crossing its broad barrel vault was located 5m below its current level!
