Mahmoud Khalil Museum

Recommended
It may be a surprise to find works by Rodin, Millet, Utrillo, Sisley, Lautrec, Degas, Moreau and Rubens on the banks of the Nile but this museum housed in the former residence of President Sadate boasts one of the richest collections of its kind in the whole of the Middle East. There are pieces by Delacroix, Pissarro and Corot, and Van Gogh's Genistas and Wild Poppies and Life and Death by Gauguin each have a room to themselves so you can contemplate them at your ease.
