Le Barachois

Le Barachois, a vast green seafront esplanade - renamed Place Sarda Garriga - is a good place to start exploring Saint-Denis. Although the cannons pointing out to sea give away the town's military past, nowadays this is a pleasant meeting place for locals and tourists alike - with bowling and café terraces.
