Walk of Fame

Embedded in the sidewalks are more than 2,500 bronze-trimmed coral-terrazzo stars conceived in 1958 by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce as a tribute to major entertainment personalities. Approximately 2,000 stars (assigned by the Chamber) have been dedicated, at the approximate rate of 20 per year; names are inset in bronze along with circular plaques bearing symbols that indicate each honoree's field of achievement-motion pictures, radio, television, recording or live theater.
