Palm Springs Air Museum

Interesting
Military history of World War II is the focus of this modern museum, which showcases a rotating collection of some 30 restored aircraft. Accompanied by the swinging sounds of period music, visitors can move in for up-close examination of such vintage beauties as a Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, a P-51 Mustang and a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress. All but two of the planes in the collection have been restored to flying condition. Panels provide technical specifications on each of the craft, knowledgeable docents stroll about to answer questions, cases of military memorabilia line the walls, and films on military and aviation history are screened periodically in the small theater.
