Mystic Seaport

Located at the mouth of the Mystic River, this 17-acre complex pays homage to America's 19C maritime past. More than 60 buildings in the village house functioning workshops found in a 19C seaport, where visitors can watch demonstrations of crafts related to the art of wooden shipbuilding. A vintage steamboat and three tall ships are moored at the waterfront, including the 1841 Charles W. Morgan, a survivor of America's 19C whaling fleet. In addition, Mystic Seaport preserves more than 400 small craft—the largest collection of its kind in the world.
