Andriake

Interesting
The remains of ancient Andriake provide an unusual and evocative sight, buried among a silted-up port and its surrounding marshland. Granaries once stood on the quayside here and one of these, built on the occasion of Hadrian's visit (129-130), is still standing. This plain, grandiose structure is typical of the utilitarian buildings of the Romans and is adorned with effigies of Hadrian and his wife, bas-reliefs and an epigraph of the emperor.
