Hangzhou History Museum

Interesting
Situated on the road leading to the summit of Wu Hill, the Hangzhou History Museum retraces the history of the town through a fine collection of exhibits accompanied by explanatory notes in English. The collection includes the mausoleum of Kang, a monarch of the Yue kingdom (904-78), the walls of which are painted with flowers and mythical creatures, and Ding bronzes carved with geometrical patterns. The top of the hill is carpeted with woods of camphor trees over 700 years old, dominated by the Chenghuang pagoda, which houses a huge engraving in relief depicting the town during the southern Song period.
