Chi Lin Nunnery

Highly recommended
While Wong Tai Sin Temple is characterised by its crowds and the lure of money, Chin Lin Nunnery is a haven of Zen-like simplicity and meditation. The superbly restored nunnery was built in the Tang style, which had a strong influence on Japanese architecture. The serene, smiling Buddhas are surrounded by a decor in which every detail inspires tranquillity: pools adorned with lotus flowers, noble architecture, the gentle tinkling of bells, and birds singing in the bougainvillea bushes. Prolong your visit to this delightful sanctuary by having a meal in the vegetarian restaurant.
