May 18 National Cemetery
The May 18 National Cemetery is the final resting place of demonstrators killed during the military repression organised by General Chun Doo-hwan that started on this fateful date in 1980. It was a bloody repression, in response to Gwangju's steadfast militantism. A symbolic site.
