Vimanmek Palace

Highly recommended
Built without a single nail in the second half of the 19C, Vimanmek Palace is the largest golden-teak building in the world. Stroll through the palace's maze of rooms, visiting the reception rooms, Throne Room and the king's bedroom. The latter is lavishly decorated (furniture, objets d'art, porcelain, etc.), illustrating Chulalongkorn's (Rama V) fascination for the West. In the park, a fine craft exhibition in Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall, an austere room built in 1903, is open to the public.
