Bardo Museum

Highly recommended
Along with the National Assembly, the Bardo Museum occupies the buildings of the former Bey palace. The magnificent interior decoration is equalled only by the superb exhibits displayed in the museum, which houses a collection of international renown. Taken from archaeological excavations of ancient sites in Tunisia, and more generally from all across the country, the exhibits span different historical periods, including prehistory, as well as highlighting the various civilisations which have inhabited Tunisia. The museum's collection of ancient mosaics is one of the finest in the world.
