Chan Chan

Highly recommended
A dozen adobe fortresses, grouped quite close together and probably built by different sovereigns, all of which contain a palace, houses, water tanks, ceremonial areas and mortuary chambers. Such is the exceptional archaeological site of Chan Chan, capital of the Chimú from the 12C to 15C. The immaculately renovated Tschudi palace invites the visitor to imagine everyday life in each of the different districts, while you admire the beautiful carvings that grace its buildings. An absolute must.
