Spittal an der Drau
Spittal an der Drau The Essential
This pleasant town, dominated by the Goldeck peak, lies in a large basin at the confluence of the Lieser and Drave and close to Lake Millstatt. Its strategic position, on a major trade route linking Germany and Venice, has enabled it through the ages to become a prosperous economic and cultural centre. Today, it is still one of Carinthia's busiest crossroads.
