Benediktinerstiftskirche St. Peter

Recommended
If the Benedictine abbey-church, founded by St. Rupert in the 8th century, retains sections from the Romanesque period (West portal and St. Catherine's Chapel), it was greatly remodelled in the 17th and 18th centuries. At the entrance, a wrought iron grille separates the porch from the nave, whose simplicity highlights the elegance of its Rococo decoration. Frescoes show saints' lives and Werner von Raitenau's altarpiece and marble tomb are superb.
