Salzburg Festival

The first Salzburg Festival was inaugurated in 1920, in honour of Mozart, even if it is also dedicated to other composers. The greatest conductors have attended it, such as Herbert von Karajan, who added the Easter Festival and Whitsun concerts to the traditional Summer Festival. Concerts take place in the Großes Festspielhaus (Festival Hall), former Winter Riding School (Small Festival Hall), Rocks School and at other various locations.
