Little Golden Roof

Interesting
Grafted onto an ordinary Old Town building, the Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof) certainly stands out. At the start of the 16C, Emperor Maximilian I, had this loggia built, in order to show himself to the people during feasts and tournaments. The Gothic structure was designed by Niklas Türing the Elder, and the decoration becomes increasingly sumptuous and Renaissance the closer it gets to the roof. Inside, the Goldenes Dachl Museum exhibits pieces that belonged to the Emperor, as well as his death mask.
