St. James Cathedral

The Baroque St. James Cathedral has a concave façade, flanked by two towers, topped by a great dome. You can hear its chimes at 12. 15 p.m. every day. It was rebuilt in the 18 th century and presents several domes, decorated with frescoes that give an illusion of depth. You can see two masterpieces there: Our Lady of Succour (Mariahilf), by Lucas Cranach and the Mannerist-decorated Mausoleum of Archduke Maximilian, who died in 1618.
