Schwaz The Essential
Interesting
Schwaz was the Tyrol's largest town, after Innsbrück, from the 15C to 16C, when its mines made it the biggest silver production centre in the world. This wealth is attested today by the unusual size and opulence of its buildings, notably the very large Parish Church, with a pinnacled front, or the Franciscan Church. Finally, do not miss visiting a real, 500-year old silver mine.
