Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions

Behind the 18C façade of PalaisSchönborn is the Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions. Its collections give a good insight into everyday life in Austria's provinces between the 17C and 19C. Some artefacts are of particular interest, for example, the strange "bird of self-knowledge" from the Tyrol (mid-18C). The museum also has 350 textile motifs that once beloned to Emilie Flöge, who ran the fashion house on Mariahilferstrasse.
