Feldkirch The Essential
Interesting
Situated on the road to the Arlberg pass, Feldkirch is a popular stopping place for French tourists. Huddled at the foot of Schattenburg castle, the town has retained its Medieval triangular plan and the old-world charm of its arcaded squares. The town gates, featuring ditches, redan gables or carved cannons, open onto the long, rectangle and arcaded Marktplatz. Inns with painted façades, a corner turret with a bulbous dome or a Gothic oriel window catch the visitor's eye.
