Atomium

Recommended
The Atomium was created for the 1958 World Fair. Designed by the engineer André Waterkeyn, it represents an iron crystal molecule, enlarged 165 billion times. It is made up of nine spheres linked by tubes through which visitors can move around the structure. The sculpture-like building is 102m high. A lift in the central tube sweeps visitors to the upper sphere in 23 seconds, offering one of the best panoramic views of Brussels and its surroundings.
