Church of Notre-Dame-du-Sablon

Interesting
This lovely Flamboyant-style building was originally the chapel of the crossbowmen's guild. Legend has it that in 1348, the pious Beatrice Soetkens brought a statue of the Holy Virgin from Antwerp to Brussels as a gift for the crossbowmen. The chapel became a place of pilgrimage and was extended around 1400 and completed around 1550 with the main portal. Inside, the very slender chancel and high glass canopies are captivating. Numerous works of art.
