Notre-Dame-de-la-Chapelle Church

Interesting
This recently restored church is at the beginning of the popular Marolles district. While the 13C transept is pure Romanesque style, Brabançon Gothic art dominates most of the building. Note the fine alignment of its lateral gables and the tower-porch. The interior houses several funerary monuments, including the memorial of Pierre Bruegel the Elder and his wife. There is great contrast between the darkness of the choir and the stark light of the nave.
