Grand Béguinage

Recommended
Originally, this Beguine convent (founded c 1230) included the district near the church. It was extended to 6 ha in the 17C and is the largest Beguine convent in Belgium. It was purchased by the university in 1962 and now accommodates students and lecturers. The convent is criss-crossed by two arms of the Dijle and some of its brick houses have gardens. The Gothic church is austere.
