This Gothic church mainly dates back to the 13C. Its brick steeple can be seen from miles around (the construction is 122m high). The interior contains several masterpieces, including a Madonna and Child white marble statue by Michelangelo. The choir contains the tomb of Marie de Bourgogne. A carved wooden gallery links the church to the Gruuthuse Museum.
