Salamander Tower

The Tour Salamandre (Salamander Tower) is one of the oldest vestiges (11C) of the fortifications. This keep is now a museum predominantly relating the history of Beaumont: facsimiles of documents on the powerful Caraman-Chimay family, a small area devoted to Napoleon's visit in 1815. From the top, there is a fine view over Beaumont (to the north) and the Hantes valley (to the south).
