François Duesberg Museum

Recommended
The collection includes a fine selection of so-called "au nègre" pendulum clocks (1795-1815) by the best Parisian makers. Ten different trades were involved in the manufacture of these timpieces of patinated (black) or gilded bronze. Note the lovely Paul and Virginie clock which Bonaparte had made for the writer Bernardin de Saint-Pierre. The museum also has a fine collection of porcelian, pictures, prints and books on the same theme.
