Gembloux The Essential
Gembloux, an agronomic and horticultural centre, was famous for its 10C Benedictine abbey. It had acquired great cultural influence. The abbey estate was abolished during the French Revolution and since 1860 has been occupied by an agronomics college. The town still retains vestiges of its 12C ramparts.
