Vratsa Province
Vratsa
Vratsa The Essential
At the end of the Iskar Gorge road, Vratsa lies at the foot of the western Balkan range, its rocky peaks towering above the town. Although on first acquaintance a charmless industrial place, it merits exploration on account of its attractive historic centre, which includes Hristo-Botev Square, the Museum of History and the Ethnographic Museum. Nearby is the Vracara Defile, composed of spectacular craggy rock formations.
