Medvednica Nature Park

Interesting
Immediately to the north of Zagreb, the "Bear mountain" reaches a height of 1 032m at the Sljeme peak (access by cable car). It has been turned into a ski resort, equipped with a few lifts. Its proximity to the capital and its forests add to its attraction all year round. 4km away are the ruins of the impressive 13C Medvedgrad fortress, destroyed in an earthquake in 1590. It houses the national altar, where a burning flame symbolises the eternity of Croatia. Enjoy fine views of Zagreb below.
