Kiasma Modern Art museum

In the heart of the city, between the Art-Nouveau railway station, Finlandia Hall (Finlandiatalo) with its sleek lines and the Functionalist Parliament building, Kiasma is the work of Steven Holl and was inaugurated in 1998. The exterior is made of a mix of metals (copper, zinc, titanium, aluminium, brass), and glass; the interior is made up of five overlapping levels linked by lifts, stairways or footbridges. The majority of international art movements since the 1960s are represented here.
