Musée de l'oeuvre-Notre-Dame

Recommended
Devoted to Alsatian art from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, it nestles beside the cathedral in a group of ancient houses surrounding small courtyards. It contains the celebrated Wissembourg head of Christ, the oldest known stained glass window featuring a human figure (ca. 1070) and most of the cathedral's original statues, without which the window would not be complete. Don't miss the paintings from the Alsatian school (Conrad Witz) and the room devoted to Hans Baldung Grien.
