Musée d'Unterlinden

Highly recommended
Unterlinden museum, already famous for its pride and joy, the 16C Issenheim altarpiece, is all the more worthy of a visit since the splendid extension by architects Herzog & de Meuron. The former 13C Dominican convent and its chapel to which a new wing was added in 2016, in the form of a contemporary nave adorned with brick and copper. Modern art collections on show feature works by Soulages, Dubuffet, Poliakoff. All in all, you will be viewing no less than 7,000 years of history from prehistory to the 20C!
