Aquarium du Périgord Noir

Interesting
This complex was designed to make visitors feel as if they were below the rivers' surface. The open-topped aquariums, enjoying natural lighting and with large display windows, contain freshwater fish species from various European regions. There are six areas, each with a different theme: migratory fish, discovery (observation laboratory), predators (the finest specimens of wels catfish are over 1.5m long), diving, insects and tropical fish. Visitors, accompanied by a biologist, may feed the fish or see the reptiles being fed.
