Quays of l'Isle and Salinières

These quays are today planted with plane trees and no longer receive the English, Dutch or Hanseatic vessels of yesteryear which, led in by the tide, moored here to take on wine. The Great port tower (Salinières quay) is flanked by an old town gate, a remnant of the 13C ramparts.
