There are no roads leading into this 4,535ha massif near Ordiarp, which can only be explored on trails. There are many caves and rocky shelters that were first used by prehistoric peoples and later served as sheep pens and smugglers' hideouts. The mysterious light from the beech groves, the smell of the moss and mushrooms and the sound of the wind rustling through the branches have created a legend around this place as being inhabited by Laminak, mischievous little beings from Basque mythology.
