Trespoey Quarter

Interesting
Located on a hill east of Pau, the avenue of the same name joins the Trespoey neighbourhood to the city. It was in the middle of the 19C that it propsered, the English middle-classes moved here and had some elaborate villas built, setting them in enormous grounds looking onto the Pyrenees. They include these villas: Navarre, St Basil's, Beit, Rahat, San Carlos, Nitot (now a documentation centre), and the Palais Sorrento.
