Church of St Nectaire
This church (1150), a superb example of Auvergne Romanesque art, has much in common with other major churches in this style: Notre Dame-du-Port, St-Austremoine, Notre-Dame-d'Orcival and St-Saturnin. The simplicity of its west façade contrasts with the magnificent design of the chevet. The bell dates from the 19C. Inside, note the unity of style and the 103 vivid capitals in the nave and chancel. Pillaged during the Revolution, the treasury boasts fine pieces such as the 12C bust of St Baudime.
