Brest Harbour

Recommended
From the viewing table in the east of Cours Dajot, you will enjoy a superb view over Brest Harbour, from the mouth of the Elorn to the headland of Portzic. This vast 184km/114mi2 harbour, between 12 and 20m (40-65ft) deep, leads to the ocean via a 1.5km/0.9mi-long bottleneck with steep banks that is well protected. It is thus not surprising that it has long been a favoured mooring for the French navy.
