Place Aristide-Briand

This was the birthplace of Charles-Armand Turpin de la Rouërie (1751-1793) whose statue was erected in the square in 1993. This adventurer and general in the American army during the War of Independence returned to France when the Revolution broke out and started the local counter-revolutionary movement.
