Chalon-sur-Saône The Essential
Interesting
Chalon, a river port situated at the confluence of the River Saone and the central canal, is an extremely active industrial centre and the economic capital for crops and rearing cattle, as well as a reputed wine region. Surprisingly, torpedoes and submarines used to be made here at the Schneider factories...while they are no longer manufactured here, Chalon is home to a number of industries, such as Kodak. Not surprising in the town of the father of photography Nicéphore Niepce .
