Cluny The Essential
Recommended
Cluny is famous for its abbey. Sacked during the Revolution, then demolished and sold off stone by stone, the edifice that was for a long time the largest in Christendom was reduced to ruins. Today restoration works coupled with 3D imagery give a good idea of this centre of Christianity that had a considerable influence on the religious, intellectual, political and artistic life of the whole of Western society.
