Musée du Berry

Interesting
Housed in Hôtel Cujas, this museum displays fine archaeological, medieval and folk arts and traditions collections that evoke the history of Bourges from prehistory to the present day. It presents, among other things, a rich funerary statuary and a series of alabaster statues representing weeping figures, Les Pleurants (15C), by Jean de Cambrai and found in the Duc de Berry's tomb. Also a few canvases by Jean Boucher (1575-1633), a painter in the Classic style who is renowned in Bourges.
