Champagne-Ardenne

Champagne-Ardenne
The Essential

Champagne-Ardenne is just as effervescent as the famous beverage stocked in its cellars. At a remove from the hubbub, the region is a source of wonder and curiosity, thanks to its renowned towns and exceptional natural sites.
Reims Cathedral, the narrow medieval streets of Troyes, and the fortifications of Langres continue to attract tourists from all over the world, who also travel the champagne tourist routes. Starting from Reims, Épernay, Château-Thierry or Châlons-en-Champagne, the bubbles of the champagne trail lead both novices and experts from vast cellars to intimate little museums. But how many can claim to make the most of everything else the region has to offer?
In Champagne humide, water seeps into everything, to the delight of fishermen and water sports enthusiasts. Every lake has a leisure centre: the Lac du Der, the lakes of the Orient Forest, the Lac du Vieilles-Forges, Lac de Bairon… There is no shortage of forests: the extensive thick woodland of Ardennes will gratify ramblers. As for the cycling routes, they run into the hundreds of kilometres!
