Champeaux Street

On this street, uncommonly wide for the 16C, the maison du Boulanger houses the Thibaud-de-Champagne Cultural Centre. Opposite, the Tourelle de l'Orfèvre, partly covered by a slate draughtboard, is held up by caryatids and a goat-footed statue. The 1526 hôtel Juvénal-des-Ursins, was inhabited by this family from Champagne. One of its members, Jean I, helped Isabeau of Bavière win the regency of the kingdom in 1408.
