Noue quarter

This suburb used to be frequented by boatmen delivering their wood to Paris, by floating timber rafts on the Marne. They lived in low cob houses only accessible by foot because they were located in the 80 tiny streets perpendicular to Avenue de la République that form the neighbourhood. A stroll along the banks of the Marne is very relaxing.
