Ancien Collège des Jésuites de Reims

This school was built by the Jesuits; they planted a vine here that had been brought over from Palestine. Three centuries later it still bears fruit for the annual harvest. A Renaissance-inspired main staircase leads to the library, which has superb Baroque, Louis XIV-style wood panelling. This opulent interior, in dark, warm tones, was used as a set for the filming of Patrice Chéreau's La Reine Margot.
