Porto-Vecchio The Essential
Interesting
Dominated by its citadel, Corsica's third-largest town still enjoys a strategic position, but for reasons that have changed considerably since its creation. Pirates and mosquitos have made way for tourists, including many Italians, won over by the proximity of idyllic beaches and luxury hotels. The town has become a thriving seaside resort and the setting can best be taken in from the sea, the headland of Chiappa, or the village of L'Ospédale.
