Saint-Claude The Essential
Interesting
First and foremost, Saint Claude occupies a magnificent site at the confluence of the Bienne and Tacon rivers, best admired from Place Louis XI, which offers a splendid view. Originally a very famous and formerly prosperous abbey, of which only the St Pierre Cathedral, with its remarkable fortified apse, remains. Its prime location in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional du Haut Jura, its crafts tradition - in particular pipes - and tourism ensure this town remains dynamic.
